Meet Your Coach
Nick Long
I am a Marine Corps veteran with a background in Leadership Development, Instructional Design and Training Development. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Industrial Organizational Psychology, with research focus on military veteran reintegration experiences at civilian workplaces. I have over 20 years of leadership and management development experience and 11 years of experience in designing, delivering, and implementing training plans and programs for adult learners in academic, corporate, and military settings. I also hold multiple industry recognized certifications to include Six Sigma, Scrum, Change Management, and Corporate Training.
Like many veterans, one of the hardest things for me to learn after my military service was how to integrate back into society and become a part of the world around me that had changed so dramatically while I was overseas. I knew that my days of serving others weren’t over but I never would have guessed where my path was to lead. After many years of ups and downs, I found a groove. I learned what worked in terms of developing a personal brand and searching for a new career. With a world that has changed so dramatically in the past couple of years, many peole are facing the same challanges of trying to intergrate themselves into the evolving job market. I share my lessons learned and help individiuals make a targeted approach to achieve greater results.
Having seen both good and bad leaders in the military and in the corporate world, I sought out education in understanding why and how different forms of leadership develop. I developed a style and mentality of servant leadership that I share and teach to others. I believe that we can choose to treat the struggles we face in life as either roadblocks or lessons. I choose to see them as lessons and advocate for building strong teams through strong leadership. Through effective engagement, I help guide individuals and organizations into developing better leaders to move their teams into the future.
